I had intended to walk to Little Milton, but was foiled by the lack of bridges across the river. At Chippinghurst Manor, a Restricted Byway crosses the river, there there is only a 'ford' (not that it's suitable for anything short of a tank) and no foot bridge. Lower down, my map showed a footpath crossing the river with the crossing marked as 'stepping stones' but there was no such way to get across, and again no bridge.

A walk from Chris' house just outside Keswick. We climbed though Applethwaite to the summit of Latrigg, and then descended to the east. We followed the disused Penrith.Oxenholme railway line for a bit before retracing our steps and climbing south out of the valley and up to the Castlerigg Stone Circle. We then returned via the outskirts of Keswick.
